A Triumph in Debate: Cathedral at the Cambridge Schools Debate

Students School

Representing India at the prestigious Cambridge Schools Debate, Cathedral’s team—Zaynah Lucien (9D) and Aaditya Agarwal (11D)—showcased exceptional skill on the global stage. Competing in the ESL (English as a Second Language) category, they also qualified for the Novice category in their first international tournament.

Dominating the preliminary rounds, they secured first place in three out of four debates and finished second in a closely contested match. Breaking 2nd out of over 80 teams, they made history as the only international team to advance to the semi-finals.

Individually, Zaynah Lucien emerged as the 1st best speaker in both the ESL and Novice categories, while Aaditya Agarwal earned the 2nd best speaker position in both categories. Their stellar performance is a testament to Cathedral’s legacy of excellence in debate and public speaking.
