Middle School
In 1860, Bishop Harding and the Cathedral Chaplain established a grammar school within the walled city of Bombay, alongside a smaller school for girls. Today, that historic girls' school building is home to The Cathedral & John Connon Middle School, which plays a pivotal role in shaping students for the senior grades. Serving Grades 5, 6, and 7, the Middle School acts as a transition tunnel, creating the scaffolding for the skills, knowledge, and techniques necessary for older children to cope with a challenging academic curriculum.
Combining a rich historical legacy with a forward-thinking approach, the Middle School environment is designed to foster intellectual growth, critical thinking, and creativity. Students are encouraged to engage deeply with their studies through interactive projects, discussions, and collaborative work, all within a supportive and nurturing atmosphere. The school emphasizes the development of both academic prowess and personal integrity, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the demands of the Senior School and beyond.
